Hyoton and a New Technique [SOLO]
Coren sighed.
The next portion of the Exams would take place in the morning, and he needed some trump card to pull another win out of his ass. After today’s debacle, there was no way that anybody’d take him lightly.
That means it’s time to do the same thing he did to beat Samui:
Replicate a Kekkei Genkei.
Taking a deep breath, Coren gathered chakra into the air around him.
First, he collected water, and he chilled it to the coldest he could; unfortunately, while it was as cold as ice, it wasn’t actual ice.
But then a thought struck him like the lightning bolts from the last battle.
Using his skill in wind manipulation, he quickly spun the air around the water, cooling the air as he used it to cool the water.
In only three seconds, he managed to freeze it solid.
It wasn’t as strong as a true Hyoton user’s ice, true, nor was it as fire retardant, but it would have to do. He would need to fight an actual Hyoton user in combat if he wanted to get a proper gauge on how to use it.
Until then, however, it was time to train.
He told his team that’d he’d be out of the hospital in an hour, and that had been ten minutes ago.
So he had all of 50 minutes to train in his new skill.
Smirking, he skipped off to a nearby training ground, designed for the venting of frustration or late-night training excursions.
Getting into stance, he pulled out his blade and lurched towards the dummy, all the while generating the wind around the water to cool it quickly. Hell, he even added in a second layer of spiraling wind to speed it up!
Now all he had to do was-
BOOM
Coren was tossed aside as his orb of spinning air burst like a balloon.
What just happened!?
Immediately going over what just happened, he realized that he’d just tried to use two conflicting spirals within a small, enclosed space.
He essentially trapped two hurricanes, spinning away from each other, and put them into a ball.
With a smirk, he said
“I think I have a new ace-in-the-hole.”
Coren learned Rasengan: Prototype.
Coren gained Kekkei Genkei: Hyoton
He immediately got to practicing his skills in wind manipulation; it would be hard to control that sort of thing without it. Thankfully, because of his Wind Elemental Affinity, it went along faster than it would have otherwise.
He channeled his energy into creating the two cyclones together, but it only proceeded to spin out of control, unable to keep a perfect circle.
"...Maybe if I created a protective circle around it..?"
Coren channeled water around the wind, creating an orb of ice around the wind. By controlling the wind, he'd be able to keep it stable, with the water helping...
But just then, it burst the ice like it was nothing, giving Coren a few scratches from the shattered ice in the process.
"...Damnit."
He sat down onto the ground, trying to figure out different ways of getting past this.
He first tried using a shield of wind to keep it stable, but he didn't have enough skill in Wind Manipulation to control two mini-hurricanes, and then create a shield of the same energy. He was always better at juggling different abilities than mastering what he had.
Finally, he settled on using his own chakra as a container; it would drain him like nothing else, but at least it would make it into a workable prototype.
He channeled as much chakra as he could into the orb surrounding the newly-created spiraling orb; he quickly did a few checks on what was too much and too little, quickly finding a good in-between. The fear of it blowing up in his face kinda motivated him to find it swiftly.
Finally, he sat there, panting like a dog with the prototype of this... Whatever it is.
He would need to come up with a name for this, but there's no way that he could think of one now. He was dirt tired; if he was good to fight in the morning, he'd be shocked.
Forcing himself onto his feet, he noticed how messed up his hands were from channeling that much wind energy; they were slashed almost all over. There was minimal skin left over!
He pulled out some rubbing alcohol and gauze to wash and wrap it, but what he saw shocked him.
It was closing itself on its own.
He knew his healing rate was absurd, but this...
Coren put the medical equipment back into his seal, taking a look at his hands and digits.
The skin finally finished its reparations, the only indicator that it was ever damaged being a slight pink color from the new skin, and even that was fading quickly.
He ran his hand over his Cursed Seal.
This damn thing was bolstering his healing factor by a disturbing rate; that wasn't normal. He knew for fact that Anko didn't have almost instant regeneration.
Whatever Orochimaru did to him, none of it seems to match up with anything anyone expected.
"...Damn snake."

Re: Hyoton and a New Technique [SOLO]
This thread has now concluded.
A journey within another has ended, with Coren Keitaro gaining even more strength.
Coren has learned yet more techniques and skills, namely the Hyoton and the Rasengan. While they both are in an imperfect state, what may these new techniques lead to? And will they be noticed by those around him? Namely, will Minato Namikaze notice a genin using his own technique? And how will he handle it?
Tune in next time to know, here on TNTNaruUzu.forumotion.com.
Completed Solo Thread: +5 EXP
Training Complete: +5 Wind Elemental Manipulation, +5 Water Element Manipulation
A Disturbing Revelation: +5 Endurance to Cursed Seal, Skill Perk: Enhanced Healing>Skill Perk: Instant Regeneration
